15 Things I’m Leaving in 2024

For me, this year was marked by transition: transition out of seasons, places, and relationships and transition into new stages, spaces, and responsibilities.

2024 showed me that to make room for the new you have to be willing to let go of the old, even if that means releasing your past self.

The process may be painful, but on the other side of surrender is discomfort, growth, and greater alignment with God's perfect will.

With all of that in mind, here are 15 things I’m leaving in 2024:

  1. Over-explaining

  2. Trying to walk around storms instead of through them

  3. Not living while I’m waiting

  4. Trying to put God in a box

  5. Holding onto offense

  6. Underestimating the power of godly sisterhood

  7. Dwelling on past mistakes

  8. Obsessing over self-improvement

  9. Holding on to people and places because of history

  10. Overconsumption

  11. Doom scrolling

  12. Missing opportunities to share the Gospel

  13. Praying vague prayers

  14. Waiting until I’m empty to fill my tank

  15. Measuring success by milestones

What are you leaving behind in 2024? Let me know down below and have a happy and blessed New Year!

Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:18-19

Happy New Year & Thank you for sharing Nel. 2024 has definetely been a year of growth and uncomfortability but through it all GOD has proven time and time again to be with me, to be my anchor in the storms.

I'm leaving in 2024: Fear, Worry, Doubt, unbelief, lack of self-esteem, lack of self care, people pleasing, anxiety, disobedience/delay obedience to GOD, Laziness, & holding on to what no longer serves me.
